“When power leads man to arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man’s concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.”

-President John F. Kennedy

This quote by President Kennedy helped me to think of poetry in a whole new way. I suddenly wanted to contribute to the poetry community. What could I write that would help change humanity for the better?

In 2019, I enrolled in a poetry class at Harvard University. The following poems are the results of my semester and are my first attempt at writing poetry.  In my work, I explored different aspects of my life, including family, religion, and social issues.
